The skate-surf model in our fleet. Zippy and edgy. Ideal day runner for the metro ramps and wedges.
When we initially designed this for a skater in our fold I knew it would perform well in smaller stuff but what surprised us most is the way it adapted in the heavier surf for a few of the /ADV riders.
Flat deck line which gives you that stability and speed needed for a small wave grind with a more conventional bottom rocker in contrast. This is most noticeable through the centre point (key design element that gives the XOVA its unique feel). The overall rocker if lowered for drive with a touch more lift in the tail.
The hull uses a full single concave with a slight double increasing in depth between the fins with a slight flat-vee release behind the back fin.
The outline has a mix of parallel lines through the central part of the design with the area tucked in through nose and tail. We have added a natural hip to pull the tail area down for a sensitive, engaged feel.
Rule of thumb with this model is to ride it 2 inches shorter and 1/2 inch wider than your standard performance shortboard.
